Barbie is 84, and loves to draw, and in particular finds portraits of pets, who bring such joy into our lives, so rewarding. If you would like Barbie to sketch your pet, please DM Don-Art.
In lieu of payment she would be delighted to have you donate to either of the two charities she actively supports:
THE DYLAN MIKA CHARITABLE TRUST
Dylan is her son-in-law, All Black 982, who sadly passed away in 2018. The family subsequently set up a scholarship in his name at Dylan’s school, St Peter’s College, Auckland, to each year cover the costs of putting a student, who otherwise might not have that opprtunity, through five years of excellent senior school education. There are currently four boys receiving scholarships.

As a senior herself, Barbie understands the importance of making the golden years of our pets as comfortable and secure as possible, including rehoming senior dogs if their owners have to go into care or pass away. The costs of vet services and even special diets can become overwhelming, and in lots of cases financial support is needed. Dear Humans is a site that is supporting the ongoing care of elderly dogs.
Barbie works in black and white, A4 size, and will courier the unframed finished portrait anywhere in New Zealand (along with information on how/where to donate). Once received, please donate to either of the charities above and add the tracked courier cost of $12, using ‘DONART’ as a reference. For RD addresses NZ Post has an additional charge of $5.50.
If you would like to add your name to the list for an original artwork, DM your four favourite photos of your pet. Please note there is no fixed time frame but we will notify you as soon as your artwork is complete and ready to be couriered.
